Ayam Penyet or Lalapan Ayam is a simple delicacies from Indonesia. *Done claim*
Nevertheless of its origins, I, as a Malaysian, have to admit that we have found love in this Indonesian cuisine. The same way we all found love to our national food, Nasi Lemak. *Done claim too*
However, due to many love they received, Ayam Penyet has become too commercialized until it has lost its originality and become too fancy. What I mean is that, some Ayam Penyet has been modified to put extra side dish in it such as Terung Balado or Tempe etc in it, thus, it is not very simple as it should be (At least, that’s how I believe original Ayam Penyet should be?
UNFORTUNATELY THIS RESTAURANT HAD DISCONTINUED THEIR BUSINESS
Salam,
Albeit lack of promotion (as I couldn’t find any in social media), this restaurant was able to attract me and any other people of Ipoh. Before I went here, I saw a lot of people at this restaurant which makes me wonder what’s so special about it.
From the outside, you can see that the decoration was nicely done and the restaurant was well lighted. There is a place for you to dine outside if you prefer open air environment whereby the restaurant is air-conditioned inside. Upon entering, this restaurant amazed me with its interior and decoration.
Well, the name of the restaurant does not reflect their location, it was located at Shah Alam actually. But yeah, Klang or Kelang town is famous with one of their signature dish which is Lontong. Lontong was a well known Indonesian food, among Javanese people. There are several types of Lontong, but the one that are famous in Malaysia is known as Lontong Cap Go Meh in Indonesia. Well, you can read more about it here on Wikipedia.
in Malay, Lagi-lagi Ayam Penyet @ Restoran Wong Solo, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam.
Salam,
Ok this is just a quick and simple update, before I’m going to focus on my studies since the examination is around the corner. After this I will not updating this blog until my examination ends, which expected to be on the middle of May.
Anyway, this time I would like to share one more good Ayam Penyet restaurant for ya in Shah Alam. Some of my friends, who become very addicted with this dishes until they want to eat this food everyday!!! I also don’t know why they like Ayam Penyet so much~huhu.
The front view
This shop looks like it served authentic Indonesian foods in affordable price. To me, this restaurant is just-another-Indonesian-foods-restaurant. The only uniqueness is they offer quite a variety of Indonesian dishes.
Conclusion
Food: Quite Nice. But for me I thinks it just normal. The sambal is not very good for me. Seriously I don’t understand why some of my friends really love the Ayam Penyet here.
Anyhow, I had failed to try other dishes, I will do it later when I come again in future. From what I see on the menu there are sets for Ayam Bakar (Bako!!!), Bakso and other Indonesian signature dishes.
Environment: Just a typical normal restaurant for me. But there are some uniqueness, they offer a section where people can eat by sitting on the floor (like the Japanese style).
Price: Hurm, dunno what to say, you judge yourself. For the price of RM10.50 you get a set of Ayam Penyet with rice (see picture after read me) plus one small Mineral water. I think it was quite a reasonable price.
Anyway, nothing to babbling anymore, just enjoy the picture after the break.
p/s: Location map and GPS coordinate at the end of the post.
Lately I see Ayam Penyet had been favourite dishes among Malaysians. So this time once again I brought to you another Ayam Penyet Restaurants. This time the restaurant located at USJ 9 Taipan Business Centre.
Before this, I had reviewed some good Ayam Penyet restaurant, you may refer to the related post below. Anyway, for this restaurant, I think it was quite okay to try. It was quite far I think from my location.
The signboard
I have nothing to say more, you may just look at the photo after the break. =)
Yeah, our last day in Surabaya. Sorry for the very late update about this. I have so many things to go through. Starting with my final exam and few other personal things~huhu. Anyway, I’m in holiday now, so I’m free to post to this blog, yeay!!~
For those who had lost on what am I talking about you may read my 1st and 2nd Post on Surabaya Food Travelling.
Ok, lets go for the food travel story. For the third day we only manage to go for one restaurant only because for breakfast and dinner, we eat at the hotel.
Okay, for our lunch, we go to Javana Ikan Bakar and Seafood. The location is at Jalan Sulawesi, Surabaya. Details on location will be mention below.
About this restaurant food, I thinks it’s nice~More to Chinese style of food. I even saw some Indonesian Chinese groups eating here.=) Yet, you must not worry on the halal status of the food, our tourist guide guaranteed on this.
Anyway, enjoy more food-toshot after the break. =D Continue reading
So, in the previous post, I had already show you on our first day of the trip to Surabaya. On our second day, we had some journey outside Surabaya main city, to the Apple farm at mount-what-i-not sure,=_=”. I’m so shocked that Indonesia had apple and orange farm you know.
Anyway, the journey of food is getting interesting. Our tourist guide said eating Bakso at the top of the mountain feels great. We tried it, and it really does. yup, when you eat hot food in cozy, windy weather, it feels good you know. But unfortunately I forget to get some picture. Because I was busy eating. Because I was busy taking the panorama image from the mountain. However there are many small stalls selling Bakso there or you may eat it inside the Apple farm, they have restaurant there.
Anyway, I should just proceed with our lunch and Dinner for second day. There was no breakfast because as I said in my first day post, our breakfast is provided by the hotel, so nothing specials there.
So, our lunch on second day was atRestoran Simpang Raya. The menu is, Nasi Padang. Just enjoy the food-toshot.=)
Salam,
Okay, before I post on my second day food trip to Surabaya Indonesia, I just want to make short post of one more good and cheap Ayam Penyet restaurant in Shah Alam. Ayam Penyet in Shah Alam is getting famous. A lot of Ayam Penyet restaurant had opened here recently. For example there are Ayam Penyet-AP Shah Alam Branch.
But my post here is not about Ayam Penyet-AP, it was just a small stall at Prima Dua Food Court. If you remember, I had previously made some reviewed on the stall at Prima Dua food court. Yeah, that place was a very famous eating spot for UiTM student.
Ayam Penyet Kremes
To avoid the crowd, if possible, please don’t come here during a peak time like lunch or at Dusk (from 6pm till 7pm) time. Seksyen 2 are very pack during that time. Because at that time students had just finished their classes, so they are going to have a meal. and don’t come after 10pm because I think they will be closing.
