Nasi Lemak Langkawi @ Langkawi Kedah

Salam, yeah, after long time went back from Langkawi I had no time to update the food there into this blog because of many pending food post I have to do first. At this time only I have the time to post the food I eat in Langkawi.

As had been mention before, I had went for holidays to 4 states in Malaysia in 3 weeks, Malacca, Johore, Langkawi (Kedah) and Penang. Before this I had review 1 famous food in Johore which is Mee Rebus Haji Wahid.

My trip to all this place may not bring much result for the food destination as I didn’t plan for the holidays and I have short of time to research the best and famous place. But nevermind, I still learning to becoming the better food Traveller aka blogger.

~~~~~~~~Ok finish with my celoteh~ Lets go for the food review.~~~~~~~~~
Nasi Lemak Langkawi [eatz.me]
Ok, this time I want to review the food for your breakfast in Langkawi Island. The food is Nasi Lemak. For your information, Nasi Lemak is one of Malay traditional food that very famous between Malaysians. It is made from rice cooked with santan (coconut milk). But this Langkawi Nasi Lemak is not as usual Nasi Lemak as you can get in other place. I don’t know whether it is Nasi Lemak or Nasi Minyak, but when I asked one of the hawker they said it is Nasi Lemak and when I ask another, it said Nasi Whatever-You-Want-To-Called-It. So I decided to called it Nasi Lemak as it was served in the morning for breakfast only. So you must come here morning, for breakfast only okay~
Anyway, the taste is good. You may choose the side-dishes. I choose for the “Ayam Merah”(Red Cooked Chicken) and “Sotong Merah” (Red Cooked Squid). Yes the taste is good. I recommend you to try it.
But, unfortunately, the price is quite overprice. My one the Nasi with Ayam and Sotong as the side plus Kopi ‘o’ (Coffee), is RM7!!! huhu~ But the taste is good lah~ If you want to taste it its okay~huhu. So for the overall result, I gave them 3 star if not for the overprice.
The location of the stall is near the Haji Ismail Group and SAGA Shopping Complex. You may refer the map HERE @Wikimapia.
Haji Wahid Mee Rebus @ Plaza Angsana, Johor.
Hj. Wahid Mee Rebus@Plaza Angsana, Johor[eatz.me]
Yosh~ Sorryyy for the late update~I’m at Pulau Pinang now for my family holiday~Yeah, straight holidays~ Melaka and Johore with my gf, Langkawi with my friends and Penang with my family, within 2 weeks okay~So I’m really tired travelling for the Cuti-cuti Malaysia. Okay, straight to the point, I will review all the food’s one by one okay. Please bare with me patiently~
Orait, this time I will review one of traditional food in Johore which is the famous Haji Wahid Mee Rebus. The stall is located at Plaza Angsana, Skudai, Johor Baharu. Map HERE. One of my friends told me that it has branches at Stulang, Johor near the Open University but when I checked it, it has been closed already~huhu.
I’m not sure for the opening time of the stall, but I go there on Wednesday night and it’s open. So I assume that it will open on weekdays and weekend but not sure for the hours~As it is a foodcourt, I assume it open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Erm, for me the food is good. THIS IS A MUST TRY if come to Johor. The kuah is nice. And it has something crispy on it~Just look at the picture and I’m sure you will like it~I give them 4 star, if not for the place. But who cares, it shows the originality and identity of the stall~And the price is quite cheap, RM3.50 per meal.Neway, enjoy the picture~
Steven Western Corner @ Damansara Old Uptown
Steven Western Front [eatz.me]
If you searching for a good steak, other than Station 21 at Bangsar (which will be review later), you may go to Damansara Old Uptown. Map here. Here, there are variety of foods available from East to Western foods. And this may not the best steak available here. From my observation, there are 3 most famous stall that serves steak here. Yazid, Pirates/ Lanun and Steven~
And btw, this is a chinese stall, for you are very particular with the food, no offence. But its is halal, don’t worry~ But if you are very particular, you can go for Muslim western food, whether Yazid or Pirates/ Lanun. If you want to know about the price, you may refer to the picture above, try to enlarge it~
To me the presentation is good. Place is OK. But the taste is not so good compared to other steak stall like Yazid’s and Lanun. My friends and I prefer the Grilled Chicken~3.5 star for them~
Erm, I have nothing to say anymore, so enjoy the picture~
Lan Popia @ Seksyen 7, Shah Alam
Lan Popia 2 [eatz.me]This time I will make a short review on one stall that sold good Popia in Shah Alam. The stall is located at Pusat Komersial, Seksyen 7 Shah Alam. It is located near the ‘Barra’ Mamak Restaurant and ‘Patio’ Restaurant. Map here.
The weakness of this stall is they frequently close down. So I feel sorry if you came here then it is not opening for business. The stall is open starting from 5 pm.
The taste of the popia is good. the stall serve 2 types of Popia which is “Popia Goreng” and “Popia Basah”. The “Popia Basah” is good. The sambal is a little bit sweet and pekat. And they put Serbuk Kacang on it.
The price is RM 3 for 5 pieces of Popia. Okay, no talk anymore lets go to the picture~
Oh btw, I gave 3 star maybe. They good in the taste but lack on the business hours time.
Nasi Goreng Thai @ Tesco Shah Alam.
Okay, this is just a short review. Yesterday me n my gf had some problem to find a place to eat for our lunch. We want to eat at the place that has an aircond (it was very hot outside) but have a cheap food yet special instead of fast food. After a long discussion and suggestion, we go to the Tesco Shah Alam food court (Not Tesco Extra). Erm, Tesco Shah Alam is located near the Bulatan Malawati exit to Federal Highway. There are several stall serves good food here. There are also famous JM Beriani (I will review later) here.
Ok, so there are variety of food and stall at the food court. I choose for the stall named “Masakan Thai”. I ordered for “Nasi Goreng Thai” or “Thai Fried Rice”. Ok, no more talk, lets look for the picture after the break.
Nasi Ayam Pak Mal @ Seksyen 11, Shah Alam.
Okay, this post is requested by Miss Sweet-Luv, thanks~. Erm, I have heard some of my friends had suggested this stall before if you want to eat Chicken Rice in Shah Alam. This stall is located at the food court@seksyen 11, Shah Alam. It’s stall is beside the Baiduri Tomyam.
So, what is special about this stall Nasi Ayam? To me it had nothing special because I had tasted better one in Ipoh (later I will review about it), but there are something quite different about this stall Nasi Ayam compared to others. It is the taste of its chicken and its sauce. The chicken is like had been marinade with the sauce nicely. And the sauce also tasted quite good.
Okay, lets jump to the picture I’ve taken:
