Indian’s Banana Leaf Cuisine in Ipoh @ The Andersonians’ Club

Salam,

If you craved for special muslim friendly, pork free Indian cuisine in Ipoh, I might say, this is the place to go. The Andersonians’ Club served southern Indian cuisine for lunch and what so special about it, it is served on a banana leaf and it has been in business for many years.

Before this, I’ve been to the banana leaf restaurant in Bangsar and I think this restaurant is as good as there if not better (for the taste). So, before I go to the photos, let me give my verdict first:-

Nasi Kandar Tayub @ Taman Tasek Damai, Ipoh

Salam,

When you being told or ask about any good Nasi Kandar in Ipoh, for sure, Nasi Kandar Ayam Merah or Nasi Ganja Yong Suan will come in your mind right? Last time, I have posted about one unpopular but a legendary Nasi Kandar in Ipoh, Majeedia Nasi Kandar Ayam Ros, Ipoh. In this post, I will write about another unpopular choice of Nasi Kandar in Ipoh which I think you should try. It is known as Nasi Kandar Tayub in Taman Tasek Damai, Ipoh.

So let’s see how good is it through photo, but before that, here’s my verdict:-

Food:- The Ayam Merah (red chicken or sambal chicken) is flavory and nice. Not very spicy too. Overall, I love it and somehow rather, it gives me some other Nasi Kandar choice as good as Nasi Ganja. I was also being recommended to try the lamb curry by the netizens, so later on maybe I will try it. The side sambal is not as good as Nasi Ganja’s.

Iftar / Ramadhan Buffet @ Casuarina Meru Ipoh Perak

Salam Ramadhan everyone!

Last week I had the opportunity to have Buka Puasa at Casuarina@Meru, Ipoh. It is a new hotel in town. This year they held their first Ramadan Buka Puasa buffet. Since this is their first, maybe we could expect some specialty in their menu.

Lucky last week I had the opportunity to try their buffet, so I snap some picture for you. But before that, I’ll just give my verdict of what I personally thinks with their buffet.

Good Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang in Klang Valley @ Medan Makan Jalan 223, Petaling Jaya.

Salam,

Nasi Lemak in Klang Valley area nowadays I believe is overly modified. You’ll never get good Nasi Lemak unless you put in some additional dishes such as Sambal Sotong (Chilli Squid), Ayam Masak Merah (Chilli Chicken), Sambal Kerang (Chilli Cockles) or any other side dishes. Good plain Nasi Lemak is very hard to get.

Iftar / Ramadhan Buffet @ Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites, Ipoh Perak.

Salam,

Well, another review for buffet Ramadhan from me and this time, I went to the brand new hotel in Ipoh, Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites. This hotel was opened at the end of 2011 if I’m not mistaken. It was located at the heart of Ipoh city, at the Sungai Kinta riverbank. So, since this hotel is very new and looks very grand, I would like to have a try at their Ramadhan Buffet.

Ok, I hope you have a good internet connection since there’ll be a lot of pictures I want to share with you~

North Indian Cuisine @ Pakeeza Restaurant, Ipoh.

Salam, Hello Brotha’ and Sista’!!

Vanakam!! Okay, today I’m gonna blog another cool restaurant in Ipoh, Perak. Well this restaurant had established in Ipoh for a long time, I wonder whether they have any other branch or not~

If you craving for some Halal Indian food, I recommend you this place. Well, actually it is quite easy to find any Halal Indian food here in Malaysia because most Indian food don’t contain pork or alcohol, however you still need to be careful as the beef still need to be slaughtered according to syara’ right?! Anyway, for this restaurant I believed it was safe/halal because I heard the owner was a Muslim.

Exclusive Breakfast @ Shook!! Cafe, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur

Salam,

In my previous post, I already talk about my stay at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur. You may refer here to read it. This time, I want to review the breakfast they serve here. As before, I get to review this because they give free breakfast for one person if we stay here as hotel guest. But if you want to add up person or eat there without being a hotel guest, RM 55 per person will be charge to you.

Anyway, I think the food here is good yaww~And I was amazed by the variety of food they serve!! I wish I can try their Lunch and Dinner one day, huhu. It was worth for RM 55 of your penny, I presume.

Maybe I shall make some short list of the food they served here:

1) Pastries – Croissant, Muffins (4 flavours I think), Bread (Normal Bread, Oat, maybe more I’m not sure), etc.

2) Western – Sausage, Grilled Meat, Omelette, Scramble Egg, Baked Beans, etc.

3) Chinese – Wantan Mee, Lotus Pau, and some of it I not sure of the name.

4) Malay – Nasi Lemak (The sambal is sooo hot yaww~), some Kuih, Bacon Fried Rice (It’s Chicken Bakon for sure and I’m not sure whether this is Malay food or not, hehe), Fried Yellow Mee.

5) Indian – Various Roti Canai ie: Roti Pisang, Roti Telur, Roti Tisu, etc just like mamak stall. Got Chapatti, Tosai.

6) Arabian – Hummus (I just thought this maybe an Arabian food, but I’m not sure what it is. I’m reluctant to try it, huhu.)

7) Cereal – Got 6 different flavours I think.

8 ) Salad – I’m not trying this, because I don’t like it, but I just wow’ed at various vage you may choose. Also there are like 4 or more different cheese you may choose.

9) Fruits – So much choices, Pineapple, Watermelon, Apple, etc.

10) Dessert – Pancake, Waffle, etc.

11) Drinks – Hot: Coffee or Tea; Cold: there are like 12 various flavours of fruits juices.

Erm, I think that’s all I can remember for now. There are more for sure. I wonder what will they serve for Lunch and Dinner, there must a lot of food to choose. I think the food here is marvellous. Me like the food, maybe because there are a lot of choices they give and the treatment they give.

It feels good sometimes to eat at such an exclusive place. Maybe its a good place to treat your loved one here. There are also other restaurants available here. From what I see, there are Arabian food restaurant, Korean and Chinese food.

Anyway, I think this post will be fail without a picture as a prove for my words, so enjoy the food-toshot after the break. Just to warn you as usual, the amount of the picture is quite big, hope you can patiently wait for it to load.

DSC02772 The looks of the Restaurant.

Anyway, lets go one by one from what I take first, ok? First I tried the Western Breakfast, Omelette, Smoked Meat, Sausage and some Baked Beans. See the picture below.

Maybe This is The Best Roti Canai in Ipoh, Perak.

or dalam Bahasa Melayu, Mungkin ini Roti Canai Tersedap di Ipoh, Perak.
Okay, this post title seems like I’m too confidence. Actually maybe yes and maybe not it all depends on your perception. For me, this is the best I’ve tried. I will told you why I said that later, maybe picture is worth to see rather than to say.

Rite, straight to the point, the stall I mention here named Hilmee Stall. It is located at Greentown food court, which is in front of Greentown Mall. It is very easy to go there. Will give you the map at the end of this post.

DSCN2176 [eatz.me]

So, what’s so great about it?
Fuhhh, thats what I can say. The Roti Canai was very soft and Crispy. It was also very fluffy you know. Very like it. When eaten with its kuah, it will complete the dishes. However I like to eat it with the only kuah Sambal, I recommend you that.

The environment of the place is fairly clean. And prices can be considered normal lah. And I would like to remind you that this stall only open in the morning from Monday to Friday only okay, that’s make this stall exclusive or special. And you need to come early because they sold out quite fast.

Hereby I hope you enjoy the photos taken. Continue reading
